Pollards Auctioneers in Clonmel have been appointed to assist in renting units at Market Place.
Many businesses there closed or relocated in recent years due mainly to the crippling rates imposed.
The owners had originally engaged Savills, who are based in Dublin and Cork, to rent the units – but most have remained empty.
Councillor Siobhan Ambrose says that not having a local auctioneer dealing with it didn’t seem to be working.
