World Cancer Day

It's World Cancer Day and the Irish Cancer Society is reminding people to be aware of the early signs of the disease.

If you notice anything unusual about your body, you're being urged to get it checked out by your doctor.

However, early detection is key, as the sooner it is detected, the better the chance of survival.

The National Screening Service is also reminding those eligible age groups to take part in its Cervical Check, Breast Check and Bowel Screen programmes.
