Police say they have arrested a 40-year-old from Galashiels.
The girl got into difficulty while swimming at the hotel yesterday.
Carole Greenwood was there – and says she tried to save her.
“As I came into the pool, there was a lot of commotion going on and the child was on the bottom of the pool” she said.
“So I dived in and got her out” she added.
