Weather alerts in place across the country.

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for the country until midnight tonight.

Gusts may reach up 110 kilometres per hour at times – caution being advised on all routes with motorists advised to keep a look out for debris on the roads.

A snow and ice warning is also in effect across the country until 11pm on Thursday night.

Met Eireann has a status yellow alert in place for wintry showers, which could lead to up to 3cm of snow during today and tomorrow.

The west and north, as well as high ground, are expected to see the largest accumulations.
