A 21-year-old woman was injured in the incident at a house on Blarney Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardaí carried out searches at wasteland on the north side of the city this morning and found what's believed to be the handgun used.

Gardaí are still questioning two people – a man and a woman – in connection with the attack.
