Vita Cortex talks to start this week

Labour Relations Commission talks are due to get underway this week in a bid to end the dispute at the Vita Cortex factory in Cork
.
Workers have been staging at sit-in at the plant for the last 116 days. Employees are hoping Vita Cortex owner, Tipperary man Jack Ronan will now come to the table and meet them.

The 32 workers involved in the dispute are seeking 0.9 weeks of pay for each year of service.

They claim this was agreed by the company and given to other employees.

They’ve already received statutory entitlements of two weeks a year from the Department of Social Protection.
