The new Mayor of Clonmel says he’s demanding more investment in the town from Tipperary county Council.
Fine Gael Cllr Michael Murphy has been elected as the town’s first citizen with Cllr Pat English as the Deputy Mayor.
Cllr Murphy says Clonmel deserves more attention from the local authority including a dedicated Dereliction Officer for the town to tackle the number of empty shops and offices.
