UUP walks out of NI Assembly talks

The negotiations had been spearheaded by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Northern Ireland Secretary, after the PSNI chief linked the murder of Kevin McGuigan to members of the provisional IRA.

However the UUP refused to continue with the talks last night, insisting that the IRA should be the first topic on the agenda.

David Ford, leader of the Alliance Party is disappointed the negotiations lasted less than two hours.
