Unemployment has fallen to its lowest level since 2008.

The Central Statistics Office has released the Quarterly National Household Survey for the last three months of 2014.

In unadjusted terms, the unemployment rate has fallen below ten percent and is in single digits once again at 9.9 percent.

When seasonal factors are taken into account like extra staff being hired at Christmas the adjusted rate of unemployment now stands at 10.3 percent.
