Trolley numbers rise from yesterday at South Tipp

The number of people being treated on trolleys and chairs at South Tipp General has risen from 18 yesterday to 30 today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 357 people in a similar situation at hospitals across the country.

University Hospital Limerick – which provides Emergency Department cover for North Tipperary – has 31 patients waiting for a bed.

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin is the worst hit today with 42 patients on trolleys or chairs.
