605 personnel are currently on overseas duty, with over half in the Lebanon and 136 in Syria.
Other personnel are currently serving in areas like Mali, Western Sahara and the Ivory Coast.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says those people aren't being forgotten this Christmas.
