South Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath is calling for a further extension to the Slurry Spreading deadline.

The independent Deputy says the move is needed due to the inclement weather.

He is calling on the Agriculture and Environment Ministers to introduce changes to the Nitrate regulations to ensure that Slurry Spreading is weather rather than calendar related.

A recent two week extension allowed farmers to spread slurry until the end of October – however Mattie McGrath says this extension has been useless due to the wet weather.
