Tipperary shareholders in locally based company Kentz look set for a major financial windfall.

Canadian company SNC – Lavalin have offered 38% more than previous bids from two other companies less than a year ago.

Founded in Clonmel in 1919 when it started life as a local electrial contractor – Kentz now employs 14,500 people in 36 countries providing engineering, construction and technical support services to the oil, gas and mining industries.

Montreal based SNC – Lavalin's offer would see each Kentz shareholder getting over €11.50 per share.
