Tipperary could be the location for Ireland’s first solar farm.

The also say the project would save 2,200 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.

The power would be generated through the use of solar panels which would be hidden behind the existing hedges.

An information evening will take place next Tuesday evening at Thurles Rugby Club where plans for the 27 acre site at The Furze on the Loughtagalla – Moyne road will be unveiled.
