Tipp County Councillors allow local authority time to implement housing measures

Councillor Pat English had called for an urgent meeting with the housing minister in a bid to secure funding to fast track a major social housing construction programme for Tipperary.

Fine Gael's Marie Murphy proposed the motion would be deferred for six months to allow measure put in place by the local authority to take effect.

The proposal to defer the motion for 6 months was passed by 29 votes to 2.

However Councillor Pat English says given the lack of progress being made its unlikely there will be any major improvement by the time his call for a deputation to the Housing Minister comes back before the local authority.
