Tipp not getting value under Procurement Agency

It’s claimed that Tipperary County Council is not getting value for money since coming under the National Procurement Agency.

The issue was raised at this month’s meeting of the local authority by Councillor David Doran after he discovered that the council were paying 4 cents more per litre for fuel since the change came in – which amounts to 10,000 euro annually.

Since the amalgamation of North and South local authories the council are now forced to tender for goods and services on a national scale.

However Liam McCarthy, head of finances at Tipperary County Council, says the council ARE getting value for money
