Tipp Delegation to meet Transport Minister today

The upgrade of N24 will be top of the agenda for a Tipperary delegation which will meet with the Transport Minister next week.

Independent TD Mattie McGrath is set to lead a cross-party group from the Premier County later today

The cross-party delegation will be aiming to drive home to Transport Minister Shane Ross the merits of upgrading the N24 Waterford – Limerick route to motorway status.

Deputy Mattie McGrath says such a move would benefit not just Tipperary but the entire south-east region

He believes there’s a need for a concerted effort to present the Minister and his Department with a unified and solid proposal for the upgrade when they meet later today.

The independent TD says getting the green light for this project go some way toward confirming that the government is serious about improving the connectivity deficits that the regions and rural Ireland are experiencing in comparison to a thriving motorway and transport infrastructure centred around the capital and the eastern region generally.
