During last years heat wave 13 people drowned over a two week period in Ireland.
According to John Leech of the Irish Water Safety Council all of these were swimming out of their depth.
He says it's vital to make sure people swim in areas that are safe and to never go swimming alone.
There are a number of well known bathing areas around Tipperary including Dromineer and Ballina on Lough Derg and Ardfinnan on the Suir.
