Gardaí release one of the three men arrested over Tipp cannabis seizure

Cannabis worth an estimated €700,000 was found during a planned operation by officers.

Over a thousand cannabis plants were discovered by Gardaí when they raided a house at Boyrtonrath, Boreen, Kileenasteena in New Inn yesterday morning.

During a subsequent search of a second premises a drying house was discovered while Gardaí also recovered cannabis herb and a shotgun during the operation.

It was carried out by members of the drugs and detective units in Tipp Town and Clonmel along with the regional surveillance and support units, the dogs unit and uniformed officers.

3 men – One in their 40's and two others in their 50's were arrested and detained at Cahir and Tipperary Garda stations- one has been released with a file to be sent to the DPP while the two others are still being questioned by officers.
