The number of women in senior posts below average in Tipperary’s County Councils

North Tipperary County Council is one of a number of local authorities across the country which have no women employed at managerial level.

According to a report in today's Irish Independent all five managerial posts in North Tipp are occupied by men.

Indeed of the 37 senior positions on North Tipp County Council just 19% or 7 posts are held by women.

In South Tipperary County Council while there are 2 women among the 6 managerial positions, there is a lower percentage among senior posts generally at 17% or 10 out of 58.

The national average stands at 29%.
