The Church of Ireland Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe is to retire.

Bishop Williams has served in the Diocese of Limerick and Killaloe for the past six years having been consecrated in July 2008.

The Church of Ireland Diocese includes a number of Parishes taking in parts of County Tipperary including Cloughjordan, Nenagh, Roscrea, Shinrone and Killaloe.

The Dublin native said it's not a decision he came to lightly, but is convinced it is right both for himself, his family and the Dioceses.

Bishop Trevor has had a varied career as a parish priest, a religious broadcaster with the BBC in Northern Ireland and leader of the Corrymeela Community, a Belfast based reconciliation and peace building project

When he retires Bishop Williams and his family will move back to their home in County Down.
