The survey shows that one in three tertiaty routes has deep cracks, potholes or disintegration.
Tipperary isn't immune from the problems highlighted – the study found 6km of the regional roads in the county are in the 'worst-affected' category.
The survey calculated that just 24 per cent of national roads were in top condition, with some classified as virtually undriveable.
