The yellow alert covers all of Munster as well as seven other counties with persistent showers expected that could cause localised flooding.

It kicks in from 6PM tomorrow Thursday evening and was originally due to expire at 6AM on Friday morning.

However the timescale has been expanded with the warning now in effect until 6PM on Friday evening.
