South tipp General Hospital plans acted on

Plans for the project have been lodged with the County Council – which has also received a seperate application for the development of a play area by the paediatric ward.

In documents submitted to the planning department – the expansion of the ED at the Clonmel Health facility will consited of a single storey extention to include treatment cubicles and support accomodation as well as ancillary related site works – the development is within the grounds of a protected structure.

Meanwhile in a second application – the HSE is seeking to construct a single story play area to the side of the existing paediatric ward with alterations to the the side elevations and the relocation of the existing fire exit.

Again these works are on the grounds of a protected struture- The original Saint Joseph's Hospital.
