SIPTU claims zero hour contracts an issue in the health sector

The trade union claims some voluntary organisations – which are funded by the tax payer – are not providing set hours of work or are spreading minimal hours across the week.  

SIPTU says the issue has been raised amongst their members who are home help workers in the Dublin and Wicklow areas in particular.

Health Division Organiser Paul Bell says they believe it affects one quarter of the three thousand employees in the sector.
