Shooting of U.D.A. member condemned

Northern Ireland secretary James Brokenshire has condemned the killing of a prominent loyalist paramilitary figure in north Belfast.

Ulster Defence Association member John Boreland was shot in a unionist area late last night.

His death has prompted fears of an escalation of violence between different loyalist groups.

DUP MP Nigel Dodds says Northern Ireland can't be allowed to return to the 'dark days' when these murders were commonplace.
