Sharp rise in trolley numbers

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 14 patients without a bed at South Tipp General today – up from 5 yesterday.

The situation at University Hospital Limerick has eased somewhat – down from 40 yesterday to 31 today.

However the Dooradoyle hospital – which serves North Tipperary – is still the busiest in the country.

Nationally the overcrowding situation has increased in the last 24 hours – up from 278 to 359.
