Rose of Tralee organisers respond to stage invasion

The organisers of the Rose of Tralee say they're satisfied that adequate security measures are in place in the Festival Dome, after the live broadcast was interrupted by a protestor who invaded the stage last night.

The campaigner from the British-based 'Fathers for Justice' group – who was dressed as a priest – came on stage during the interview with the Cavan Rose.

In a statement organisers said the man, who had purchased a ticket, was immediately removed from the stage by security personnel before being taken away by Gardaí.

The protester referred to “all of the fathers in this country denied access to their children” as he held a poster on stage.

The show was interrupted for several minutes while the intruder was removed.

Fathers for Justice is a representative organisation for separated and unmarried fathers.

The group took to twitter last night claiming responsibility for the incident.
