Gardaí in the town have organised the setting up of BusinessWatch, which works along the lines of community alert schemes in an effort to crack down on crime.
The scheme is open to all businesses, regardless of the number of people employed…along with farmers in the area to join up to be kept informed of scams, crime and thefts.
Chairman of activist group Roscrea Stands Up Derek Russell says the input of the local community in combating crime has proven successful in the past.
The event will get underway at 7pm on Friday evening in Racket Hall in Roscrea.
