Organised by the Local Authority Members Association the awards highlight and recognise community and councils working together.
The Roscrea Cardiac First Responders Group are among the nine in the running for the Best Community Based Initiative.
The group was set up in January 2014 – they provide a local response unit which can usually get to the scene of an incident before the ambulance service.
Over 200 nominations were received for the 2017 awards – the winners will be announced in February.
