Roscrea ambulance stood down due to licensing issue

Some ambulance services in North Tipperary were stood down due to an issue with paramedic's licences this week

Two emergency vehicles in Roscrea and Limerick were told not to operate following the revelation that the crews had not all renewed their licence by the deadline…

The Irish Independent reports that at least two emergency ambulances were taken out of service in Roscrea and Limerick as one crew member on each vehicle had not renewed their paramedic licence by the May 31st deadline.

The paramedics in question were told to stand down resulting in the ambulances they were working on not operating as they must be manned by two personnel at all times.

They were out of service for up to five hours.

It's not known how many ambulances around the country were similarly affected by the situation regarding the new process for the registration of paramedics.
