Renewed calls for dedicated suicide prevention officer in Tipperary

Calls have again been made for Tipperary County Council to appoint a suicide prevention officer.

The issue was raised by Councillor David Doran, who has long campaigned for an officer for the county.

However, in response Council officials said there were already 2 in operation in the county – one each in North and South Tipp – that work under the HSE’s remit.

These officers are shared with other counties – Councillor Doran says he’s disappointed there isn’t one dedicated to Tipperary.
