The highlight for Tipperary is the inclusion of the Shannon River Crossing for which €40 million has been allocated – however, there's been some criticism that other projects like the N24 Tipp Town to Limerick road and the Thurles Bypass are not included.

Minister Brendan Howlin says that the plan is focused on a lot more than Dublin and balanced development is key.

He's hopeful that a Judicial Review into the Shannon River Crossing will give the project the green light.

The plan, which includes a new bridge across the Shannon, a Killaloe bypass and upgrading of the Ballina to Birdhill road, is due before the High Court next week following opposition from environmentalists and local residents.
