Solar Sense Ltd is proposing to install 32,000 square metres of solar panels on ground mounted frames at Loughloher near Cahir.
The plans for the 13 hectare site also include four inverters and a 20kV substation.
Meanwhile Elgin Energy Services Ltd has lodged a planning application for a solar farm on an 11 hectare site in mid-Tipp.
If given the green-light the facility would produce enough electricity to power 1,000 homes.
The proposed development would be located at Lisnagonoge & Commons – midway between Thurles and Holycross.
Tipperary County Councils planning department is due to decide on both applications next month.
