Probe into Cork school bus crash

The bus – operated by Glenfarry Coaches on behalf of Bus Eireann – overturned on the Ballyhooley to Fermoy road shortly after 8 o'clock this morning as it made its way to a number of secondary schools in Fermoy.

Most of the students, who were all reportedly wearing seat belts, managed to escape the coach but several had to be freed by the emergency services.

Three were taken to hospital for treatment with the most serious injury being a broken leg. The other students were treated in a nearby school for shock.

Gardai and Bus Eireann have launched separate investigations while the HSA is also likely to carry out its own inquiry.

It's believed poor weather conditions may have been a factor in the crash
