Many musical acts including Crystal Swing and Trudi Lawlor were due to perform while a number of other events were also planned for the Bank Holiday.
These included a display by the Defence Forces as well as sheep racing and a dog show.
However speaking on Tipp Today organising committee member Jim Ryan said a power outage left them with no option but to cancel the event.
