Police hunt two men in connection with shooting of Tipp native in America.

Police in the US are seeking two men in relation to the shooting of a Tipperary man in New Orleans.

Brian Hanrahan from the Killenaule area is a Newcastle West based Garda – he was shot twice when he was robbed while on holidays earlier this week.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The Irish Times reports that police have released surveillance footage of two persons of interest and are seeking the public's help in tracing them.

Meanwhile US police officers have donated almost €1,800 to Garda Hanrahan's family to help pay for hospital or travel costs.

Brian Hanrahan's wife Emer and mother Rose have travelled to New Orleans to be with him.
