Members of the Dáil's Public Accounts Committee say they believe the Government is trying to hinder its investigation into the penalty points controversy.
It's after the Justice Minister called in the Garda Ombudsman to launch its own investigation – saying the PAC was the wrong forum to get to the bottom of the issue.
Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore says he supports Alan Shatter's decision adding there is no danger of the Ombudsman's inquiry being politicised.
