PAC seek advice on former REHAB executives.

The Chairman of the Dáil's Public Accounts Committee is to seek a meeting with the chair of the Committee on Procedures and Privileges as a legal row goes on to get former Rehab executives to appear to give evidence.

The taxpayers watchdog has been told its request for independent legal advice on the compellability of Angela Kerins and Frank Flannery will be provided by the in-house Parliamentary legal advisors.

The CPP's demanded more information on the PAC request to compel the two to appear, but members of the Public Accounts Committee saw it as a signal they were outside of their remit and wanted to get their own lawyers.

The Committee's now taken on a recommendation from Waterford Deputy John Deasy who says they need to pull back from a situation where all sides are getting 'lawyered up'.
