Overcrowding numbers released today

Nurses say there are 20 at South Tipp General in Clonmel while University Hospital Limerick has 27.

The Dooradoyle hospital – which serves North Tipperary – is one of the most overcrowded in the country today.

Only the Midland Regional in Tullamore has more.

According to the latest trolleywatch report from the INMO there are 271 people on trolleys in emergency departments and overflow areas of wards at hospitals across the country.

It comes as the Minister for Health Simon Harris was brought on a tour of hospitals by the Head of the HSE yesterday.
