Over 11 percent of commercial property in Tipperary is lying vacant

The latest report from GeoDirectory shows that there were 1 thousand and 37 commercial addresses in the county empty in the first quarter of this year. 

However, Tipperary's figure is lower than the national average of 12.4%. 

There are over 9 thousand commercial properties in the county, with 11.4% of them vacant.

The latest study shows a jump from the first three months of 2013, where there were 10.3% of premises empty.

However, Tipperary is below the national average for the rest of the country…where the figure stands at 12.4%…Sligo has the highest rate at 16%. 

For the first time, the report also looked at the High Streets in the cities of Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Galway…where the national average is 13 and a half percent…while the Roxboro Shopping Centre in Limerick had the highest rate of vacancy with 43 percent.

Mahon Point in Cork and Jervis Street shopping centre in Dublin were the only areas with full occupancy.
