The temple city had been crowded with thousands of devotees celebrating the Hindu new year – when an explosion happened in the early hours of this morning.
The blaze then spread quickly through the temple, trapping people within.
Fireworks are a key part of the celebrations and it's understood they'd been stock-piled for the party and sparked leading to the fire.
