Nursing reps warn members at breaking point

Tensions are rising amid a spike in the number of patients on trolleys – there have been more than 500 for the past three days in a row. 

South Tipp General had 21 patients waiting for a bed – down 8 from the previous day while University Hospital Limerick – which caters for North Tipperary patients stood at 29

90 percent of the INMO nurses union has voted in favour of industrial action. 

Their General Secretary Liam Doran says they met with the Government and the HSE last night to hightlight the extent of the crisis and the impact it is having on staff.
