If permission is granted, it will result in a larger structure being located at the Hollyford location.
In its application to Tipperary County Council REI Wind Developments Limited is seeking to erect a 1.3 Mega Watt wind turbine with an overall height of 91 metres to the tip of the blade at Turraheen Upper.
These plans represent a change in works previously permitted at the Hollyford site which allowed for a 50 kw turbine with an overall height of 73 metres- so the firm is now seeking to increase capacity by 800 kw and the blade size by over 16 metres.
It’s also looking to reduce the size of the electrical sub-station.
This submission to the local authority comes a week after REI were refused permission for another turbine at Glenlough Upper in Hollyford.
The wind energy firm had been seeking to construct a 50 metre high structure but this was rejected by planners.
