New govt plan to boost employment

The regional map outlines parts of the country where the state can provide investment to businesses under European Union regulations.

The plan, which is expected to take effect from the 1st of July, will see county Kerry along with Kells in Co Meath, Athy in Co Kildare and Arklow in Co Wicklow all added to the list of areas fully eligible for Government aid.

The Jobs Minister Richard Bruton says it will make it easier to attract multinational companies to set up in regional parts of the country.
