Need for social housing in Cashel highlighted

Tipperary County Council is being called on to use some of their lands in Cashel for a social housing scheme.

Councillor Tom Wood wants the Housing Section of the local authority to give serious consideration to using its land on the Clonmel Road in Cashel to provide much needed dwellings.

The Independent representative says it's vital that Tipperary County Council can hit the ground running when Government funding becomes available.

Latest figures show there are 183 people looking for Social Housing in Cashel.

Councillor Wood sees no reason why work couldn't start on social housing in Cashel by the end of the year.
