Ballingarry will play host to the National Famine Commemoration this year.
It is a huge event and is the first occasion on which the commemoration will be hosted in Tipperary since the establishment of the National Famine Commemoration committee in 2008.
It will be held on September 30th in the Famine Warhouse.
Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council Siobhain Ambrose says a lot of hard work has gone into securing the event for the Premier County.
