Milk production increase put down to quota changes

That's according to the CEO of Tipperary based Arrabawn Co-op which recorded solid financial figures last year.

The Nenagh based group reported a €2.1 million operating profit for 2015 despite the problems facing the dairy industry.

The success is being put down to a combination of greater efficiencies and milk price supports which enabled Arrabawn to limit the impact on its suppliers with an average milk price of 30.3 cent per litre achieved. 

Speaking on Tipp Today CEO Conor Ryan said the lifting of quotas was always going to have a major impact on the market.
