The Tellus survey collects data on rocks, soil and water across the country.
Weather permitting, the planes will be flying over parts of South Tipperary, east Waterford, Kilkenny and western Wexford next month.

Horse and livestock owners in particular are being advised that the aircraft could startle the animals.
