Man found in Kerry apartment dies in hospital

A man who was found with serious injuries at an apartment in Kerry last weekend, by emergency services called to deal with a fatally injured 11 month old baby, has died in hospital.

The 32 year old was pronounced dead at Cork University Hospital yesterday afternoon.

Both father and son were found at the property on upper high street in Killarney last Sunday.

Despite desperate efforts by paramedics to revive Karol, the toddler was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was released to his mother on Wednesday

So far, Gardaí have refused to release the results of the post-mortem examination by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster for operational reasons.

Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the tragedy.

Baby Karols remains are to be flown back to Poland where his Mass of the Angels will take place on Saturday.

He will be buried in the home town of his mother, Anna located a short distance from Krakow.

A special memorial service for Karol was staged by the Irish and Polish communities in Killarney last Tuesday

Locals organised a collection to help Anna defray the costs of Karol’s repatriation and his funeral expenses.
